PSL is a rating vocabulary from online looksmaxxing communities. It is not a clinical scale, and it is not a universal standard. On omogle, "PSL scan" is the name of a small browser step that gives a battle a starting number; it is not a verdict about a person.
This page explains exactly what the scan does, what stays on your device, and how the score fits into a camera battle. If you are looking for a medical assessment or a serious appearance judgment, this is the wrong tool and we say so plainly.
What the PSL scan does on omogle
The scan runs after the camera check. It looks at the local video frame in your browser and produces a game score from 1 to 10. That score is used to seed the round, not to rank you against a global database of faces.
The current beta keeps the scan local. Camera frames are not uploaded during the check or the scan. A live battle room is a separate feature that needs real-time signaling and production TURN before it can scale; when it launches, the page will say what is transmitted and why.
A full session, step by step
A session is short by design. The play panel shows five stages so you always know where you are.
- 1
Camera check
The browser asks for front-camera permission. omogle requests video only, not audio. If you block permission, the panel shows the browser error and you can change it in site settings.
- 2
Local PSL scan
Run the scan and get a 1–10 game score. The beta processes the frame locally and does not upload it.
- 3
Queue
Join the queue and see an opponent name. Today the queue opens a practice room while live rooms are prepared.
- 4
Battle result
Record a win, draw, or loss. The result screen shows your rating before and after, plus your tier.
- 5
Report or replay
Report a match if a safety rule was broken, or queue again. A report is stored separately from scoring and never changes the rating math.
What the score is not
The number is a game signal. It is not a diagnosis, a measure of worth, or a prediction of how other people see you. It should not be used to make decisions about health, identity, employment, credit, housing, or relationships.
- Not medical advice or a dermatology, orthodontic, or cosmetic assessment.
- Not an identity verification or a biometric identity record.
- Not an employment, credit, housing, or insurance decision input.
- Not a universal attractiveness standard; PSL vocabulary is a community convention.
- Not a reason to harass, rank, or bully another person.
Privacy: local by default
The camera check and the scan are designed to keep the stream in the browser. The site does not need the frames to give you a score, so it does not upload them during those steps. If a future live room needs video transmission, that will be a separate, explicit step with its own notice.
Battle results, display names, ratings, and reports may be stored so the leaderboard and moderation can work. Account data, billing, and support history are covered by the privacy policy. You can play without an account; signing in only saves the rating to a profile instead of a browser.
PSL scan vs an AI face rating tool
A typical AI face rating tool asks you to upload a photo, sends it to a server, and returns a number with a confidence score. omogle takes the opposite approach: the scan is local, the number is a game seed, and the product is a battle rather than a report.
That difference matters for privacy and for expectations. A local scan cannot give you a detailed feature-by-feature analysis. It also cannot store your face. If you want a detailed report, use a tool that explains its data handling and its limitations; do not assume any 1–10 score is scientific.
| Question | omogle local scan | Upload-based rating tool |
|---|---|---|
| Where the frame is processed | In your browser | Usually on a remote server |
| What you receive | A 1–10 game score | A report or a numeric score |
| Account required | No for the basic flow | Varies |
| Stored face image | Not during the local beta scan | Depends on the provider |
| Scientific basis | None; entertainment only | Varies; check the method |
How ratings and tiers work after the scan
The scan starts a round; the battle result moves your rating. omogle uses ELO, the system chess made famous. A new player starts at 1200. A win against an equal opponent moves you up about 16 points; a loss moves you down about 16. The exact change depends on the rating gap.
Rating tiers are Bronze (below 1000), Silver (1000–1199), Gold (1200–1399), Platinum (1400–1599), and Elite (1600+). The leaderboard shows rating, tier, wins, losses, draws, and streak. The tier is a game rank, not a judgment about the person behind the camera.
Responsible use
Do not use a PSL score to bully someone, to rank people in a group chat, or to make a decision about a real relationship. Do not upload a photo of someone else to a rating tool without their consent. If a battle turns abusive, use the report action and leave the room.
If you notice that a rating game is affecting how you feel about your appearance, take a break. A browser game is not a reliable mirror, and a community rating vocabulary is not a diagnosis.
Frequently asked questions
What does PSL mean in a PSL scan?
PSL is a rating vocabulary used in online looksmaxxing communities. On omogle it names a local, entertainment-only game scan. It is not a clinical scale or a scientific assessment.
Does the PSL scan upload my camera?
The current beta keeps the camera check and the scan local in your browser. Battle results and account data may be stored, but the scan frames are not uploaded during those steps.
Is the PSL score accurate?
It is a game signal, not a measurement. It should not be treated as an accurate judgment of appearance or used for health, identity, employment, credit, or relationship decisions.
Do I need an account to run the scan?
No. The basic play flow opens without an account. Signing in saves your rating to a profile and adds billing and account history.
What happens after the scan?
You join a queue, enter a practice room today, record a battle result, and see your ELO rating change and tier. You can report a match or queue again from the result screen.
