How to Play omogle: Camera Check, PSL Scan, Battles, and Rating Tiers
A step-by-step guide to playing omogle on omogle.org: camera check, local PSL scan, queue, battles, ELO rating tiers, ranks, and the free 10-battle daily limit.
Published
Short answer: open omogle.org/play, type a display name, press Start camera check, allow camera access, press Run local PSL scan, then Join queue. You land in a one-on-one battle, record the result, and your rating moves up or down with standard ELO math. No account is needed to play; a free account only keeps your rating on your profile instead of in one browser. Free players get 10 finished battles per UTC day. The live version of the game is embedded at the bottom of this page, so you can follow along.
We wrote this guide because people keep arriving with the same questions. In our Google Search Console data for the last 28 days, searches such as "omogle website", "how to play omogle", "ommogle ranks" and "ommogle leaderboard" all reached this site. This page answers them with the rules the game actually runs on today, including the parts that are still in beta.
What omogle is
omogle is a browser-first camera battle game on omogle.org. One play session moves through five stages: camera, scan, queue, battle and result. The play panel shows those five stages as a checklist, so you always know which step is active. Your score, your current rating and your opponent's name sit in three boxes above the checklist.
omogle is an independent site. It is not affiliated with Omegle, Omoggle, Ommogle, Mogged, or any similarly named site. If you typed "ommogle" or "omogle com" and ended up here, this is omogle.org, and the rules below only describe this game.
Step 1: pick a display name and start the camera check
On the play page the first field is Display name. Letters, numbers, spaces, underscores and hyphens are kept, everything else is stripped, and names are capped at 28 characters. If you leave it empty, the game gives you a random name that starts with "omogle-".
Press Start camera check. Your browser asks for permission to use the front camera; omogle requests video only, no microphone. When you allow it, your camera preview appears in the large panel on the left. The stream stays in your browser: the camera check does not upload frames. If you block the permission, the panel shows the browser's error message, and you can fix it from the site settings in your browser and press the button again.
At the same moment the game creates your player profile. A new player starts at a rating of 1200, which is the bottom of the Gold tier.
Step 2: run the local PSL scan
Press Run local PSL scan. The scan produces a score from 1 to 10 for this round, and it runs entirely in your browser during the current beta; nothing is uploaded.
Be clear about what this score is. It is an entertainment-only game signal. It is not a measurement of how you look, and it must not be used for medical, identity, employment, credit or any other serious decision. It exists to give each round a number to play with, nothing more.
Step 3: join the queue
Press Join queue. The queue looks for an opponent and shows their display name in the Opponent box. Today the queue opens a practice room: real live video rooms need real-time signaling, production TURN servers and moderation staffing before they can scale, and the game says so on screen instead of pretending otherwise.
This is also where the free daily limit applies. A free player can finish 10 battles per UTC day. When you hit the limit, the panel tells you and links to the plans page. Paid plans remove the cap.
Step 4: battle and record the result
In the practice battle you choose Win, Draw or Loss. The result screen then shows your rating before and after the battle, the change, and your tier, for example "Rating 1200 to 1216 (+16). Tier: Gold."
From there you can:
- open See your ranking to jump to the leaderboard;
- press Battle again to queue for another round;
- press Report match if anything in the round broke the safety rules;
- create a free account, if you played as a guest, so the rating is saved to your profile instead of to this browser.
Reports are stored separately from scoring, so a report never changes rating math; it goes to moderation.
How omogle ratings and ranks work
omogle uses ELO, the rating system chess made famous. Before each battle the game estimates your expected score from the rating gap: two equal players each expect half a point. After the battle your rating moves by 32 times the difference between what you scored (1 for a win, 0.5 for a draw, 0 for a loss) and what you were expected to score. Any non-zero change is kept between 2 and 32 points.
Some concrete examples, all from a rating of 1200:
| Situation | Expected score | Rating change |
|---|---|---|
| Beat a 1200 opponent | 0.50 | +16 |
| Lose to a 1200 opponent | 0.50 | -16 |
| Draw with a 1200 opponent | 0.50 | 0 |
| Beat a 1400 opponent | 0.24 | +24 |
| Lose to a 1000 opponent | 0.76 | -24 |
Your rating decides your tier. These are the five omogle ranks:
| Tier | Rating |
|---|---|
| Bronze | below 1000 |
| Silver | 1000 to 1199 |
| Gold | 1200 to 1399 |
| Platinum | 1400 to 1599 |
| Elite | 1600 and above |
The current tier shows as a badge in the top corner of the play panel and on the result screen. The leaderboard lists top players with rating, tier, wins, losses, draws and current streak.

Common mix-ups
omogle vs Omegle. Omegle was a random video chat site. omogle is a camera battle game with ratings and a leaderboard, and it has no connection to Omegle.
omogle vs Ommogle or Omoggle. These are different, similarly spelled names. omogle.org does not run them and cannot answer questions about their rules, ranks or accounts.
Is there a 2v2 mode? Not today. omogle battles are one-on-one. If you searched for "ommogle 2v2", that is not a mode this game offers.
FAQ
Do I need an account to play omogle?
No. The full play flow opens without an account. As a guest, your rating is tied to the browser you played in. A free account saves the rating to your profile, and signing in also adds billing and account history.
Does omogle record or upload my camera?
The camera check and the PSL scan run in your browser, and the current beta does not upload camera frames. Live video rooms need explicit real-time signaling before they launch.
What rating do new players start at?
Every new player starts at 1200, which is the bottom of the Gold tier. Winning against equal opponents moves you up about 16 points per battle.
How many battles can I play for free?
Free players can finish 10 battles per UTC day. PRO and CHAD plans remove the cap while the plan is active.
Is the PSL score a real rating of my face?
No. It is an entertainment-only game signal produced in your browser for the round. Do not treat it as a judgement of your appearance or use it for any serious decision.
